What
can we do for you as an Artist Painter, Illustrator orPhotographer?
-
We present images in a showcase on the web site. You provide us with these images
in jpeg format at 72 dpi about 400 pixels on the large side. It is a safe format,
nothing can be reproduced on a support with a low definition file like the above.
-
We promote the showcase to our customers via the traditional methods as phone, mail,
email correspondence, tradeshows and, or, via email marketing. Spiral does not have
a printed catalogue but can distribute our artists/publishers digital catalogues
on request. You will have to provide digital material if needed.
-
When Spiral has a potential project for you (a customer that wants to buy a license
for a specific product, for a certain geographic area, for a specified duration
and for a set amount), Spiral submits the proposal to you for your approval.
Example: A company is asking 6 images to be printed as a postcard for 2 years, for
the American market.
-
Either you accept the deal and we make an agreement based on the order (only the
artwork involved for the terms as proposed, you sign with Spiral and Spiral signs
with its customer. Or you do not accept the deal; We decline the offer from the
customer. You have always the final decision and depending on your go ahead, we
go forward or not. It allows you to keep control of the diffusion of your artwork.
However we trust you that you will try to cooperate as much as possible and specify
your licensing demands and expectations in advance so not time will be wasted.
-
When you accept all term, Spiral signs a one time contract with you and financially
we split all revenues on a 50/50 base. This can be a flat fee, royalties or an advance
payment against royalties.
To complete the deal, the publisher/ manufacturer needs to receive either:
A Professional Photographic Transparency
A Professional Drum Scan, scanned to final output size. The file should be saved
as tiff, psd or jpeg format.
-
Once you have agreed to such deal terms and have signed a contract Spiral holds
the right to act as an intermediary for this specific customer. You will have to
respect deal terms and contract term for this customer and you can not work with
the customer directly. This is the only protection Spiral Licensing has regarding
future dealings with this customer.
